Evolvere da Kore a Persefone 2018/2019

Evolving from Kore to Persephone (εξελίσσονται) (= evolve)

The triptych explores the cycle of life-death-rebirth, and can be read on an individual or collective level; cycles that are repeated in nature, in humankind, in civilizations, in the universe. I have adopted archetypal symbols, which are universally recognizable, in order to express:
• in the first canvas – Cherub – the fall, decadence, death, and whatever needs to be left behind;
• in the second canvas – Lucifer – the depression, feeling in Hades, in a cave, in a labyrinth, in a place of desperation and loneliness, alone with myself, a place where thoughts can be processed;
• in the third canvas – The Wait – time to create a new dimension, a new self, a new yet unknown way of being.
